Case numbers are given to each of the USA visa lottery winners in their selected order and according to their nativity. These case numbers are very important to all those diversity visa lottery winners in that fiscal year visa lottery program. Each case number is unique and they will contain the fiscal year of the DV Lottery, the selected persons geographical region along with the given number according to the order of selection. There are nearly 100,600 selected diversity visa lottery winners and are eligible to apply for those available 50,000 immigrant visas which are available under the DV 2011 fiscal year program.

The person who was selected first in the computer random draw will get his case number for the DV 2011 green card lottery. If the first selected person comes from the Africa region, then he will have the case number like this 2011AF 00000001. If the first person is from Asia region then it will be like this 2011AS 00000001.

50,000 immigrant visas are available under the 2011 fiscal year diversity visa lottery program.
