DV 2010DV 2010 was the last held American visa lottery in the year 2008. It did accepted entries from eligible people for a period of 60 days to participate in the DV2010 visa lottery program through the American Government's official web site. The diversity visa lottery program is officially operated by the U.S State department to issue 50,000 Immigrant visas. Application form for the entry is available in the form of E-DV in the internet only and paper entries are not accepted any more. The DOS is operating and looks after the congressionally mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Program every year under the terms of Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Section 131 of the Immigration Act of 1990 (Pub. L. 101-649) amended INA 203 and provides for a class of immigrants known as "diversity immigrants." Section 203(c) of the INA provides a maximum of 55,000 Diversity Visas (DV) each fiscal year to be made available to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.
